The Concert is a Month Away... (Custom Request)

So of course, I had to come up for Train's California 37 Tour. I was asked by a good friend of mine to come up with a concert tee that best reflected her love of the song Soul Sister and prepare us for our viewing of the concert at Red Rock Amphitheatre. I couldn't find a v-neck template with heather grey coloring for the comp below, but the silver AA tee should get the front/back design across for you to see. I'm not selling them in a tee shop but if you're still interested in one, email me privately with the subject "Train Tour Tee" and I'll let you know the cost per tee.

Digging the 'Dig (Business Brochure/Website - In-House Designer)

I landed a job last fall working as a box office customer service rep part time. I just needed a little extra dough atop my other job when things got slow. I told the general manager about my ability to create ads and other commercial media and I was told my services would be used to create a news paper ad here and there for them on the fly. It worked out rather well and then this last winter, around January, I was asked to prepare for a huge project (actually two): Create the Tennessee Shindig brochure that will give people a taste of the show and be seen by thousands of customers coming into the area, and also reinvent the website for the business as well, making it clean and sleek, without all the confusion of the past website... and make them fairly cohesive. I fiddled off and on with the brochure as I could, since I wasn't given all the information I needed until closer to May. I spent approximately 100 hours on it once allowed to fully work on the piece, mostly in the evenings after both of my jobs - needless to say, I slept little for two weeks, but hey... that's the life of a designer, no? I finished well within the time frame given to the general manager by the owner, and the piece was finalized and printed within a week and a half. The end result is a website that is easy to navigate and cohesive from one page to the next, and a brochure that shows the public just what the theatre does in each performance. For a brochure, you can call the theatre directly for a mail-out or you can email them through their website:

 TNShindig.com
Update January 6th, 2013: The website has been closed and the owner has since changed the show."Tennessee Shindig" and the website "TNShindig.com" are no longer being produced or running. The company Show City, LLC now runs the show "Biblical Times Dinner Theater" and has a new site that was created by me as well, but has since changed its format now that I no longer work at the theater.

Serenading the Masses at Threadless (Threadless.com)

I urge you to vote 5$ for this tee at Threadless.
I know. It's a bit forward. The main reason being, this almost printed elsewhere, but the deal fell through due to changes after I signed the contract. That being said, it's up this week for voting and I would love your support. Please comment on the design, vote 5$ and then tell your friends via twitter, facebook, pinterest, stumbleupon, and other awesome social media places to get the word out.
Please vote by April 2nd. You'll be glad you did. And then I can share the wealth by giving away free tees if you follow me on facebook and twitter. (bottom version has the design slightly lower, off the collar).

Hipsters Have Been Around Since Everything Was Underground (Threadless + GAP)

This week at Threadless, they've asked designers to submit entries that they feel would also reflect the fun side of the GAP, a popular store in the US and Canada (for those who are not aware of the huge impact GAP has on fashion in North America). So in honor of hipsters everywhere, I submitted my alternate take on my little Nessie. Voting for him ends this week, so please stop by to vote and, as always, please leave comments! Give him some real love... he deserves it, hipster or no.

The Northern Lights Never Sounded Lovelier! (Goodjoe.com)

I chose to create a design for Goodjoe.com's People Do Care contest currently up for voting until March 11th. We were allowed to choose any non-profit group we'd like to create a design for, and if printed, every tee sold gives $1 to the charity we decided to support. I decided to create a piece for a group called FAYM (the Foundation to Assist Young Musicians) based in Las Vegas. They help underprivileged families who couldn't otherwise afford instruments for their kids, as well as help with music lessons. Stop by Goodjoe today to give this some vote love!

Steampunk Sex-Symbol (Threadless Loves Pin-Ups)

This piece just went up for voting. It's part of Threadless' Pin-Up competition. I felt a nice steampunk design would be fun. She's probably not AS steampunk as I could have made her, but I also wanted to appeal to a wide variety of people. The design has 8 colors (two of which have halftones) and is shown on a pebble brown tee.

Please spread the love and get the votes out there! 5$ is the best you can vote on this piece. Please spread the love and please help me get this printed! You have 7 days to vote... BEGIN!

Going Dark January 18th

To anyone who visits today, I am observing the dark out against SOPA/PIPA. For those unaware, please check out the link. In response to the event, I made this graphic to work on my facebook timeline page as well. It's a silenced version of my "In The Groove" character for the day. I felt he'd be appropriate.

12 hours on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012. 8am EST to 8pm EST. That's all we ask. STOP using the internet for one day. Show your personal defiance of this bill. The bill itself may be shelved at the moment, due to such uprising, but still show your disapproval for it by turning off your computer and going outside to shovel away the dreadful snow, curl up to read, or anything far more worthy of your time. Be sure to tell people you won't be using the net today. Tweet how you will use your newfound time and tag it: #SOPASTRIKE

If sites like Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, Flickr, WordPress and thousands of others aren't even going to be online, why should you?
