Continuous Line Art Derby

Ring My Bell: Eat Your Heart Out, Anita Ward

ok, so a little background. Basically? I went to a Christmas Work Party with my hubby and a manager from his work kept playing Anita Ward's Ring My Bell on the CD jukebox. You combine that with a little too much to drink and you get an artist that couldn't help but make this design and sketch it out in the middle of a bowling alley after only bowling a 75 (yep, after my first game, I go downhill. Although, the liquor doesn't improve my game any XD )

Update: I also decided to make little icons of the design for fun (if used, PLEASE CREDIT ME):

Springleap.com: AMD Challenge (part 1)

Springleap is a new South African based design company that has popped up in the last few months. Some great pieces have already come out of their basic competitions, but this quick little one got my ideas flowing a bit:

AMD is a computer technology company that designs next-generation computing and graphics solutions for people at work, home, and play. AMD will be launching new PC technology codenamed Dragon. Dragon will give consumers an exhilarating experience when gaming, video or design editing, and using all types of different multimedia files and applications.

We challenge YOU to submit a PC related t-shirt design that takes into account any ONE OR MORE of the following words/characteristics:

Dragon, Phenom, Energy Efficiency, Video Games, Strength, Wisdom, Power, Do It Yourself Tools, Ultimate Visual and HD Experience.

The prize? The winner will receive a brand new AMD POWERHOUSE Desktop PC with their brand of top of the line graphics and computing technology WORTH OVER $1500.

I felt that a sleek, slender wyrm would be the best style for design. I already figure there will be very stereotypical dragons of all sorts. This gave me a chance to really work with the slender version of how I've drawn dragons since I was young. Since I wanted nothing to do with fire (as it's on blue and I only wanted 4 colors in my palette), my dragon is blowing large gusts of wind. Different, and not what you think of when you hear 'Dragon', but I'm hoping AMD and Springleap both see it the uniqueness of it. (due to their strict notation, I decided against adding my name anywhere on the work, but rest assured, it IS mine)

The Do-Over Derby 3 (You knew it was coming)

It's that time again boys and girls. Seems woot has decided to give me at least a shot at prize money again this week with a Do-Over Derby. Every 3 months we'll get chances to end up in the competition to try again. Now, at the moment, I'm only sure of one shirt: Wahmulance!!! from the Emergency Derby. Hopefully we see a couple of others. If I know of more, believe me, I'll let you know. For now though, watch for this entry (and hopefully others) this week:

TeeFury: 100th Shirt Concept

So I waded through a multitude of emails Monday, only to stumble across one from Layne Hunter, owner and figure head of TeeFury.com. Here's what the email said:
So sorry for the short notice, but 100th shirt is going to be produced on Wed. and the community suggested a cool collab idea - have everyone contribute their own TeeFury bird -
We have to have these in by tomorrow - and frankly if we get 10 then we would be very excited ;) I have attached the teefury bird (illustrator CS2) - do what you can - if you dont have time then dont worry about it ;) Thanks again to everyone for your support and participation in TeeFury!

Everyone needs to keep their art to Black and White - we will place all the birds on the design - we will take care of placing your birds on the tee.

Please email your submissions to me ...

I figured what the heck. And after a little brainstorming, I came up with a piece, and sent it in to Layne this evening. He seemed rather excited to get mine, so I was pretty psyched. The shirt will only be available for 24 hrs at TeeFury.com (from Wednesday 12am EST - 11:59pm EST) So now will be the time to buy! And when the shirt comes out Tuesday evening at midnight EST (Wednesday morning), look for this little guy:

Zombacon: A Doodle Comes to Life

After joking with some friends about our love for all things bacon and the recent run of multiple zombie shirts (not just at Halloween, but year 'round it seems), I sketched out an idea in a doodle screen, and was improved upon by some friends' suggestions, that became the inspiration for an entry I never heard back on from woot (not that I'm surprised. Seems they appreciate clip-art and stolen photography more than unique ideas, as of late, but I'm not starting a war here.) Here are all the pieces from concept to what I decided to send in.
